Aftercare Support for New Puppy Owners

When you bring home a puppy from R&KBULLIES, you're not just getting a pet - you're joining our extended family. We provide comprehensive aftercare support to ensure the health and happiness of our puppies in their new homes. From microchipping to lifetime genetic guarantees, we are committed to being there for you every step of the way.

At RK Bullies, we take immense pride in the care and well-being of our puppies, providing around-the-clock attention for the first 8 weeks of their lives. From the moment they enter the world, our dedicated team ensures they receive the utmost care and support.

We begin by closely monitoring the weight of each puppy, conducting regular weigh-ins to ensure they are thriving and receiving enough milk from their mother. If any puppy is found to be lacking, we promptly supplement their diet with high-quality goat's milk to ensure optimal growth and development.

During the critical first 48 hours after birth, our team remains vigilant, staying up to ensure that each puppy is nursing regularly and receiving the nourishment they need. We ensure that no puppy is overlooked and that all are nursing effectively, with feedings spaced no more than 2 hours apart.

Our commitment to the well-being of the puppies extends beyond feeding schedules. We take precautions to prevent accidents and injuries, carefully monitoring the interactions between the puppies and their mother to ensure none are accidentally stepped on or laid upon. Our goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where each puppy can thrive.

At 4 weeks of age, we begin the deworming process to safeguard against common parasites and promote optimal health. This process is repeated at 6 and 8 weeks of age to ensure the puppies remain healthy and parasite-free.

As the puppies approach 7 weeks of age, they receive their first round of vaccinations and undergo a comprehensive veterinary check-up. This examination is crucial for identifying any potential health issues, including heart murmurs, hernias, or other concerns. We are committed to only placing puppies in homes where they are free from such health issues, ensuring they start their new lives with a clean bill of health.

Overall, our dedication to providing 24/7 care for our puppies during their formative weeks sets the foundation for a lifetime of health, happiness, and companionship. At RK Bullies, we spare no effort in ensuring that each puppy receives the love and attention they deserve as they prepare to join their forever families.

PUPPY VACCINES ARE MANDATORY

  1. Core Vaccines: These are essential for all puppies, regardless of breed. these typically include:

    • Canine Distemper Virus (CDV): A highly contagious and potentially fatal virus affecting the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems.
    • Canine Parvovirus (CPV): Another highly contagious virus causing severe gastrointestinal symptoms and can be fatal, especially in young puppies.
    • Canine Adenovirus Type 2 (CAV-2): Provides protection against canine infectious hepatitis and respiratory disease.
  2. Non-Core Vaccines: These are recommended based on the puppy's lifestyle, environment, and risk factors. Some non-core vaccines may include:

    • Bordetella bronchiseptica: Protects against kennel cough, which is highly contagious, especially in settings with many dogs, like boarding facilities or dog parks.
    • Leptospira: Guards against leptospirosis, a bacterial infection spread through contaminated water, soil, or urine of infected animals.
    • Lyme Disease: Recommended in areas where ticks are prevalent and Lyme disease is common.
    • Canine Influenza: Especially recommended for dogs frequently in contact with other dogs, such as those attending dog shows or living in high-density urban areas.
  3. Vaccination Schedule: Puppies typically receive a series of vaccinations starting at around 6-8 weeks of age, with boosters administered every 3-4 weeks until they are about 16 weeks old. After the initial series, booster shots are usually given annually or as recommended by your veterinarian.

  4. Rabies Vaccine: Required by law in most places, the rabies vaccine is usually given around 12-16 weeks of age and then boosted annually or every three years, depending on local regulations.

  5. Talk to Your Veterinarian: Your vet will tailor a vaccination plan specific to your pointer puppy's needs and lifestyle. They can also advise you on preventive measures and overall healthcare for your puppy.

Remember, vaccination is crucial for protecting your bully puppy from potentially life-threatening diseases and ensuring a healthy start to their life. If is also mandatory to get your pup their updated shots , we will always provide your pup with their first set! Always consult with your veterinarian to ensure your puppy receives the appropriate vaccines at the right time.
